The universe has a funny way of nudging us toward growth when we’re ready—even if we don’t realize it yet. Lately, it’s been sending me messages through friends, both old and new, as well as opportunities and events that are impossible to ignore. It feels a bit like a patient mother repeatedly reminding me to clean my room. The message is clear: it’s time to take the next leap.
Growing, selling, and designing flowers is my passion. I’ve poured my heart into building this business and nurturing the soil that sustains it. But if I’m honest, this feels like the pivotal moment in the movie of my life where the protagonist takes the big leap—and I’m ready for it.
This year, a new chapter is unfolding. I’m expanding Imbolc Gairdín to a stunning seven-acre farm in Rensselaer County, a property managed with biodynamic practices for over thirteen years. This incredible opportunity came to me in a series of serendipitous events, beginning when a friend over-purchased seeds. Her “extras” led to a phone call with another friend, who connected me with someone new. And just like that, I found myself standing on this beautiful land, heart pounding with excitement.
The farm is a dream come true. It boasts a new barn, a pond, an artisanal well, beehives, a duck house, a chicken coop, a 100-foot hoop house, and an electrically fenced planting area. As I stepped out of the car for the first time, I felt a wave of awe—this was the place where my vision could truly flourish.
While I’ll continue planting and nurturing my space here in Loudonville, the Rensselaer farm allows me to grow on an authentic farm scale. The work has already begun—clearing fallow areas, laying biodegradable mulch and silage tarps, and preparing the soil for planting.
